Job Description
Position Overview


The Service Operations Manager - Edmonton will lead, direct and coordinate all daily operations for the Edmonton service center. They are responsible for delivering results through achieving on-time delivery of high-quality instruments that meet customer expectations, achieving monthly financial budget, and driving continuous improvement through the site. This person will guide the Service team in their support of internal and external customer requirements and is responsible for meeting or exceeding all service center KPI's including safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost. This is accomplished through building an extraordinary team across the operation, providing guidance and direction to support consistent delivery of excellent customer service; every transaction, every time.

Responsibilities And Deliverables


  • Develop and empower the leadership team to manage the daily operations; cultivate and expand a highly skilled staff and improve our core competencies.
  • Drive standard work, one-piece flow, and support FBS (Fortive Business System) lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Administer performance management processes across area of responsibility for effectiveness, timeliness, and expected outcomes in focusing, aligning and engaging employees in the pursuit of the overall business strategies and goals. Reconcile time and attendance program daily. Approve time off.
  • Actively support EH&S programs and ensure full compliance with OSHA and OHSAS requirements.
  • Ensure all processes exceed ISO quality system requirements as well as all domestic and international regulatory requirements for product assembly and handling of materials and equipment.
  • Lead and drive the service center teams through daily management to continuously meet the key performance targets aligned with company core value drives.
  • Ensure product quality through use of FBS, standardized processes, 5S, and total productive maintenance. Track product quality through metrics such as First Pass Yield and line discrepancy data and prioritize improvement initiatives.
  • Perform all site leadership responsibilities, continuously improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of our mission and corporate objectives.

This person reports to the Vice President of Fulfillment.


Qualifications


SKILLS & WORK TRAITS


  • Deep experience with Lean tools and their deployment
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and communication skills, exhibit a commitment to quality in decision making
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, business, or logistics
  • High proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Individual must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and empowering others to achieve personal and team goals
  • Demonstrated experience leading positive change in operations through collaboration and teamwork
  • Thorough understanding of business financials, forecasting and an ability to implement cost containment
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated to independently arrange and organize work efforts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to meet or exceed deadlines
  • 5+ years of previous supervisory experience in manufacturing operations or 5+ years in a technical capacity with demonstrated positive results in operational change management
