Senior Ovation Claims Advisor

Our Specialty Claims team is looking for an experienced Senior Ovation Claims Advisor!
The person in this role will be responsible for investigating and negotiating Ovation and RBC High New Worth / RBC Private Insurance auto and property claims in accordance with Aviva’s best practices and handling procedures

What You’ll Do

• Analyze estimates, value of claims, negotiate, and settle claims accordingly
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of data captured in Aviva systems
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of data captured in Aviva systems
• Acquire and maintain appropriate provincial adjuster licenses and comply with continuing education requirements – where required
• Clear understanding of financial elements of the property claims function to ensure we remain financially strong and deliver year on year improvement in our business performance
• Identify and report on any suspicions of fraud or financial irregularities in line with existing internal and external requirements and procedures
• Responsible for the issuance of payments to vendors, customer and experts
• Investigate and document cause of loss and quantum
• Review, comment on and approve vendor partner estimates for the cost of repairs or replacement of damaged or destroyed property
• Determine when fieldwork is required and co-ordinate the field resource required as well handle the information coming from the tasks.
• Handle relationships with internal and external partners involved in management of customer claims
• Ability to work in a low volume phone queue environment as a first responder for Ovation policyholders and brokers
• Own the customer relationship and outcomes on claims of varying quantum and complexity
• Interpret and apply Aviva Ovation high net worth personal policy coverage related to the loss
• Communicate policy coverage and benefits to customers
• Ensure early identification and reaction to exposures, recovery opportunities during storm and disaster events

What You’ll Bring

• Preference will be given to any candidates with adjusting licenses for Atlantic Provinces
• Experience in handling VIP/high net worth, Private Client claims handling
• Minimum 3 years of previous first party personal auto and/or property claims handling
• CIP or FCIP Industry designation or other relevant professional insurance qualification
• University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent Property technical work experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience using Xactanalysis, Xactimate, Audatex, Edjuster, Guidewire ClaimCenter
• Superior analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Basic property claims scoping and estimating understanding/knowledge
• Computer proficiency; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Ability to work overtime when required
• Strong communication skills – ability to communicate respectfully and empathetically and listen effectively
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior high net worth/VIP or specialty market claims experience
• Bilingualism (English-Mandarin/English- Cantonese) is an asset.
