Senior Financial Analyst - Sales Finance

The Senior Financial Analyst will be the lead finance contact for the sales team for a portfolio of wholesale customers (i.e. Retailers). This person will partner with the sales team to not only ensure that all customer pricing and promotions are accurately accounted for and reflected in JD Edwards (Lindt’s ERP System), but also providing business insights & recommendations on how to improve future financials. In addition, they will work with the sales team to complete the annual operating budgets, ensuring monthly expenses are accurately recorded and provide performance management insights. This person will be responsible for the balance sheet management of trade spend liability, as well as, the supervision of the deductions teams.

Responsibilities:

Spend Budget Management

• Meet with KAM (Key Account Managers) on a monthly basis to review monthly and YTD (year-to-date) results, as well, as the BOY (balance-of-year) forecast to under any risks or opportunities to the most recent forecast for the month and BOY.
• Partner with Pricing Analyst, KAM and customer service to ensure all pricing and programs in JD Edwards in an accurate and timely manner. This includes: processing credits against customer accounts where necessary; reconcile markdown accruals and adjust for actual; liaise with Customer Service regarding pricing discrepancies.
• Responsible for partnering with Sales to build up operating spend forecast for specific customer accounts for budget and the two other major forecast cycles. This includes reviewing rates, promotions, and testing volume assumptions.

Analytics:

• Ad-hoc projects
• Provide feedback to Sales Finance Manager on monthly basis on variances to budget or most recent forecast on customer spend.
• Provide Key Account Managers with financial support to assess new trade promos; seasonal buys; and the impact of pricing changes.

Balance Sheet Management:

• Reconcile and Manage trade spend liability accounts on the General Ledger. Provide monthly reconciliations to Sales Finance Manger by customer account with explanations on balances and calling any risk or opportunity.

Qualifications:

• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• CPA designated
• 5 years of financial experience, preferably with a CPG company, pricing experience preferred
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with Cognos and JDE an asset
• Aptitude to quickly analyze data, assess issues and risks and propose recommendations
• Ability to work independently handling multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent analytical and strong communication skills
• Experience in identifying financial risks and exposures and preparing analysis
• A proactive nature to provide financial support to the business
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
