Senior Financial Analyst, Real Estate

Requirements
The Senior Financial Analyst will report into the Vice President, Finance Real Estate. The individual will be responsible for maintaining up to date financial records, handling day to day matters for the Real Estate Funds group. The Financial Analyst will work directly with the Vice President of Finance, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and fund operation deliverables.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter and genuinely curious; that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment; has the ability to multi-task, efficiently prioritize and work under timelines and manage multiple stakeholders; is detail and process oriented with a high sense of ownership in their work; and has a strong foundation accounting and reporting.
Key Functions and Responsibilities:

• Act as the main point of contact for the funds year-end audits & internal controls process
• Preparation and review of fund compliance materials for banking, advisors and investors
• Ownership of the funds’ financial, compliance and operation requirements
• Preparation and analysis of fund financial models for reporting and fundraising purposes
• Responsible for reviewing of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE.
• Review monthly financial information provided by investment partners and property management companies
• Ad-hoc projects as required
• Preparation of internal and external fund reporting material
• Active involvement in the accounting and financial activities for operating and development entities
• Ability to understand and summarize legal agreements
• Continuous development and streamlining of process and procedures
• Responsible for monthly treasury requirements, including but not limited to capital call requirements

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant technical discipline with a minimum of 2 year of experience, preferably in audit with a focus on private equity or real estate clients.
• Genuinely curious with a desire to understand key metrics and drivers
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Preference given to candidates with a CPA designation
• Ability to work well in a dynamic team environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Exceptional quality standards with a high level of attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of ASPE and complex transactions in the Real Estate sector
• Self-motivated and proactive, with respect to both managing workload and professional development
