Reporting to the Director, Data Science & Analytics Engineering, the Senior Analytics Advisor will collaborate extensively with other functions within the Data Office, as well as with a variety of internal stakeholders with exposure to external clients. This role is best filled by a seasoned analytics consultant with experience successfully being a bridge between data science and business stakeholders.

• Advising and supporting product development and technology teams in developing new applications and platforms with an analytics-first mindset.
• Providing a voice for the Data Science team in advocacy for shaping the future roadmap of our data platform and capabilities in collaboration with Data Strategy and Technology teams.
• Designing and delivering presentations, reports and dashboards that effectively communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences.
• Providing thought leadership on emerging trends and best practices in data analytics and their potential applications to the business.
• Regularly reviewing business results and project findings to translate data into insights to be communicated to business stakeholder and senior executives.
• Providing advice, guidance and thought leadership to teams regarding communication of a variety of data science topics.
• Being a bridge between analytics teams and the business, ensuring that both sides have a clear understanding of each other’s needs and priorities.
• Developing and implementing data-driven strategies and solutions to solve business problems and optimize processes.
• Conducting exploratory data analyses to identify trends, patterns and insights that inform business decisions and drive outcomes.
• Working with a variety of stakeholders to design and develop experiments and test hypotheses.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven insights are incorporated into the decision-making processes.
• Participating in the development of data products and services through leveraging a product-centric mindset.
• Collaborating with a Data Science team to translate complex analysis and insights into easily digestible stories and actionable recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.

Who are you?

• Expert knowledge of statistical concepts and methods.
• Experience bringing data products and services to the market.
• Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong project management and collaboration skills with a demonstrated history of taking ownership and driving results.
• Considerable experience in an internal or external facing consulting role, including working with stakeholders from across large organizations, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in data visualization with tools such as Tableau, PowerBI and developing compelling and polished presentations in PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and SDLC best practices are an asset.
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in data analytics or a related field with a proven track record of delivering data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Experience performing analysis in the payments industry is a plus.
• A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a related field such as Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or Business Analytics.
• Familiar with software development life cycles.
