About The Role
Are you a results-driven sales and marketing professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys critical thinking, growing relationships, creativity, and the thrill of making a sale?
As a Sales & Marketing Manager at 1UP, you will play a vital role in our business by driving growth and revenue through inbound and outbound sales. This will include creating and executing a sales and marketing strategy that could include email marketing, marketing website updates, lead generation, conducting information webinars, social media management, and internal paid ads. You will be responsible for developing sales and marketing strategies that help us achieve our business goals and deliver value to our clients.
In this role, you will make an immediate impact by targeting and growing relationships with select businesses and retaining and building account revenue by skillfully presenting our services to business owners and closing large deals. You will be the first hire in this department, and will collaborate directly with the Director Of Sales & Marketing to create compelling content and campaigns that generate leads and drive conversions.

As a Sales and Marketing Manager, you will have access to a wide range of resources and training programs to help you develop your skills and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
A day in the life as a Sales & Marketing Manager:
As 1UP’s newest Sales & Marketing Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Inbound Sales
  • Respond to inbound sales inquiries from prospective clients
  • Scheduling and conducting sales calls with leads
  • Maintaining a well organized and healthy CRM system
  • Improving your closing rate at securing sales
  • Reporting internally on sales activity and opportunities generated
  • Writing and presenting proposals for companies to meet their digital marketing needs
  • Conducting face-to-face sales meetings
  • Ensuring high standards of professionalism and customer service, thereby creating referral and intermediary opportunities
  • Coordinating all aspects of the sale from start to finish
Outbound Sales
  • Networking with potential clients
  • Identifying grants and RFPs for the company to target
  • Reaching out to the targeted companies to gain sales meetings
  • Getting buy-in from management on RFPs, and then submitting bids
  • Generating leads and building a list of targeted companies
Marketing
  • Email marketing to both current clients and prospects
  • Managing a team of Paid Ads, SEO and Social Media Specialists
  • Conducting virtual events, such as lead generation webinars
  • Social media management, driving engagement rates and followers
  • Running website updates on marketing pages, blogs, and video creation
Other
  • Helping to make 1UP the best place to work
  • Managing conflicts, increasing client retention rates and preventing account cancellations
  • Conducting client check-ins, upselling and cross-selling accounts, and addressing client issues
  • Building and promoting strong, long-lasting customer relationships
Requirements
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • B2B sales and marketing experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of SEM including, PPC, SEO, Analytics, and CRO
  • Strong mastery of written and spoken English with the ability to communicate complicated ideas to convince decision-makers
  • Bonus points if you mention the ‘1UpSki’ in your application so we know that you read up to this point
  • A high level of integrity and trustworthiness
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in marketing
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects at once
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in exceeding sales targets and projections within digital marketing
Nice To Have
  • Experience with sales management software (HubSpot CRM) and Google Workspace
  • Good at escape rooms (we need help)!
Geographic Requirements
  • Preference is given to candidates who live within a 5-hour drive of Vancouver so we can easily get together for fun team events a few times a year
  • The successful candidate must be living in and able to work in British Columbia
