Job Description
The Opportunity
Provides technical support to industrial customers and Wajax Engineering and Repair Services (ERS) team to ensure best in class availability, reliability, and total cost of ownership for our customers operations.
The Role
  • Perform Spare Parts Assessment, Inventory Management & Optimization, Spare Parts criticality, Bill of Materials (BOMs), Item master Harmonization, etc.
  • Determine the means to reduce loss using data from production impacts (reliability and availability), failures, breakdowns, and maintenance cost.
  • Assimilate failure data, perform analysis, and make recommendations to improving plant operation and solving maintenance problems.
  • Liaise with OEM specialists to drive resolution on standing product problems.
  • Identify equipment failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) assessments and that corrective and preventive measures have been implemented
  • Develop, implement, and support predictive maintenance programs (Vibration Monitoring, IR, Lubrication Analysis, etc.). Ensure accurate asset life estimations and facilitate in maintenance planning.
  • Develop and track KPI's to quantify the performance of critical assets and effectiveness of reliability programs.
  • Experience of Maintenance Strategies with RCM, Job Plans, Risk Analysis
  • Develop reliability tools and techniques aligned with business needs
  • Provide training to facility personnel on Predictive Maintenance strategies.
  • Improve and optimize the overall maintenance program based on the best practices in mining industry with emphasis on preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure that all assigned projects are delivered as, where, and when promised and that final product performs as specified.
  • Experience performing maintenance and reliability audits and benchmarking to enable process optimization and improvement roadmaps
  • Experience and knowledge of CMMS Implementation with JDE, SAP, Maximo, etc.
  • Build and monitor critical component reliability trends to identify bad actors and drive product improvements.
  • Promote a culture of safety including strict adherence to Wajax EH&S policies and procedures as well as those of the customer.
  • Experience with conveyors / material handling equipment and rotating equipment
  • Develop plans to eliminate or reduce these losses via root cause analysis, solution development and implementation.
  • Determine strategies to achieve minimum life cycle cost for the asset by participating in the design and installation phase of new assets and in modification of existing assets.
  • Facilitate downtime reconciliation meetings with customers as required.
  • Perform evaluations of the residual service life and recommend strategies for refurbishing or replacing assets.

The Candidate
Education: B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining Engineering
Work Experience: 7+ years in equipment maintenance, repair, planning, and reliability.
Knowledge: Reliability engineering principles, mining equipment, maintenance planning, organization, strong computer skills. Vibration ISO Level 2 is an asset. PMP and Six Sigma certification is an asset. CMRP Designation is an asset.
  • This role is based in North Vancouver - Depending on location - 60% - 80% travel may be required.
