Job Description

Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager (Capital Equipment) is accountable for the profitable achievement of sales objectives as identified by the Senior Management group for my Client. The Field Sales Manager is responsible for the assigned teams' sales productivity and directs their efforts in order to have the greatest overall impact on their team's results. Supporting sales efforts to close new business opportunities, by collaborating with the Regional Sales Managers and assist when required.


Time Utilization:


This position may travel up to 50-80% of the time. Schedule needs to be flexible to accommodate customer schedules.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Including the following, other duties may be assigned as required:


1. Work with Director of Sales to formulate realistic sales budgets for product categories.

2. Identify current competitive and alternative systems and disseminating information, as necessary.

3. Identify markets that could benefit from the use of existing or expanded products in selected areas.

4. Lead the development of product justifications for selected applications, including return on investment studies and other purchase rationale.

5. Working with Director of Sales and Sales & Marketing teams to develop appropriate promotional plans and programs.

6. Market development activities including, but not limited to, visits to potential customers, visits to Company's international head office and other Company locations to investigate applications, attend trade shows and trade association events as well as visits to allied suppliers/vendors.

7. Attend training, as necessary, on product line and new application development and leading the preparation of sales worthy documentation, as needed.

8. Operate within annual expense budget and work to meet established individual sales budget.

9. Attend internal and external meetings, as required by Director of Sales.

10. On a long term basis, help to evolve all product lines into profitable and growing internal business units.

11. Stay current with new applications in Canada and worldwide; and communicate new applications to the sales team.



Qualifications:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:


A completed Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four (4) year college or university and at least 5 years related sales experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education & work experience.


A minimum of five (5) years' direct sales experience in one or more of the following: (1) Capital Equipment; (2) Film run on large scale packaging type equipment; or (3) packaging industry. A minimum of five (5) years' market/product experience.


Would ideally have a minimum of five (5) years managerial experience (a proven leader). Solid organizational and project management skills with the ability to establish priorities, set clear deliverables and multi-task under tight timelines and within a fast-paced and ever changing environment.
