If you are a Project Director or Senior Project Manager ready to take the next step in your career, this is the opportunity for you! MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Director for our client, one of the leading companies in the construction industry across Canada. The Project Director will report directly to the Vice-President and will be responsible for establishing the building project division of the company in Western Canada. The Project Director will ensure the comprehensive supervision and coordination of all the steps of the ICI construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Exhibit leadership in Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection on the project by effectively applying project-specific safety standards, company HS&E standards, and relevant OH&S acts, regulations, and codes to all employees and trade partners.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to recommend innovative methods that enhance effectiveness and efficiency, promoting project excellence and productivity.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals and vision.
- Maintain open lines of communication for project status updates.
- Support project management teams in developing and driving the construction schedule, ensuring timely completion and meeting milestones.
- Apply expertise in trade partner selection and coordination of their activities.
- Utilize financial management experience to plan, manage, and adhere to project budgets, costs, and purchasing.
- Proactively ensure compliance with our top-notch Quality Program.
- Compile and complete company-wide project reports with pride.
- Celebrate project success and completion, actively contributing to the project wrap-up process.
- Demonstrate expertise in risk management to minimize project risks.
- Share knowledge and serve as a mentor to project team members.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in the ICI construction industry
- Strong dedication to developing, maintaining, and executing project schedules
- Possess a University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of relevant education and industry experience
- Exemplary commitment to health and safety, as well as quality standards
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction and project methodologies, financial management, building codes, and relevant legislation
- Demonstrated success in leading projects, fostering teamwork, and achieving project goals
- Proficient computer skills, including previous experience with scheduling software
- Exceptional leadership and organizational abilities, with a proven track record of influencing others and effectively resolving various client, project, and technical issues to ensure successful project completion
