Breaking Free from Substance Use is a confidential, evidence-based digital behaviour change program that allows people to recognize and actively address the psychological and lifestyle issues that are driving their use of alcohol and/or drugs, helping to support their recovery.


The easy-to-use program provides positive coping skills that are proven to work and lets people work on their recovery at their pace. The program allows people to set their own recovery goals and provides tools to escape negative thoughts, manage cravings, and control negative emotions such as anger and anxiety. Breaking Free can be entirely self directed or may be used in conjunction with a treatment plan which includes an addiction counsellor.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:


  • PSLRTA Notice - This posting characterizes this position as currently non-union. However, please be aware that the organization on September 29, 2022, a vote was held as a result of an application by the Organization under the Public Sector Labour Relations Transition Act. The result was that employees voted to award OPSEU bargaining rights for all employees. Until such time as a new collective agreement is finalized, current terms and conditions of employment and existing, applicable collective agreements, if any, will remain in force and effect.
  • What you'll be making - $19.86 - $22.88 per hour per hour (Program Support Grid):
  • The above are initial rates; with grid increases as per policy
  • When you'll work - 35 hours over two-week period, Monday-Friday
  • Your pension plan - Immediately eligible for optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
  • Internal staff members will be placed on the appropriate grid based on their current rate of pay, up to Level 8 of the grid (see Intranet Policy - bit.ly/CompensationPolicyPg16)


HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:


  • Helping clinicians identify appropriate clients
  • Utilizing the marketing/communication resources in the Breaking Free Operational Toolkit
  • Distributing access codes, toolkit, introductory info, etc.
  • Developing and maintaining staff training schedule using training resources in the Breaking Free Operational Toolkit
  • Becoming proficient with Breaking Free Operational Toolkit implementation resources
  • Responding to staff questions
  • Drafting and updating project plan and monitoring timelines, status, etc.
  • Assisting in development of clinical pathways for clients to enrol
  • Working with Hub agency’s Communications department to develop communications plan
  • Providing monthly updates to staff (new resources, updated outcomes dashboard, etc.).


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:


Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements


Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 2 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.


We require the following qualifications:


  • Current, clear Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft office programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with community service providers
  • Patience and clear communication skills for working with individuals who require digital navigation support
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript)
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
  • Familiar with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and other video conferencing technology
  • Valid Driver’s License, adequate insurance and access to a vehicle to carry out job duties


We prefer the following qualifications:


  • Clinical work experience, ideally in substance use assessment and treatment, including intake and crisis services an asset
  • First Aid & CPR
