About the Job
The Product Specialist will be responsible for defining and managing the LOGiiX (www.logiix.ca) product roadmap and financial targets within assigned categories and will manage the concept to commercialization business and product life cycles. This role offers hands-on responsibility for creating, bringing to market, and managing the life cycle of the products that meet the quality, financial and ROI targets established for them.
The Product Specialist will run point on a cross-functional group through the life cycle process that includes product development, logistics & operations, design and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage product lifecycles from inception to end of life
- Drive on-time launches – hitting agreed IOQ dates, quantity and quality targets
- Define product requirements with prioritized features and corresponding justification
- Manage vendor relationships – this will include regular vendor meetings, coordinating sample needs, and data collection
- Work with product analysis team to identify, define the product strategy and roadmap through market research
- Other duties as assigned
- Collaborate with the marketing communication team to define go-to market strategy; hold kick off meetings to ensure product positioning, key benefits and target customer
- Obsessed with understanding the mobile, tablet & computer accessories categories, their consumers and the overall consumer tech industry
- Lead weekly NPI meetings with cross-functional teams to ensure cross functional alignment on development and launch of new product; proactively communicate any changes to product plan
- Analyze and recommend insights for current products to identify successful and unsuccessful elements
- Will regularly visit retailers to understand the on-shelf landscape of product lines and competitors
- Manage product certifications & applications
- Identify opportunities for product innovation and product enhancements, fueled by insights, data and category progression
- Identify key competitors, evaluate pricing & market trends in each product category
Qualifications
'Must-haves'
- Knowledge & passion for the tech industry
- Able to deliver accurate work with a fine attention to details
- Ability to follow through, prioritize & manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- 1-2 years of direct work experience in product management for consumer/retail products
- Self-motivated, open-minded, passionate, empathetic and fun!
- Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and an egoless nature
- Loves working in an open-door team environment
- Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the field of Business, Marketing or a similar business degree
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally
'Good-to-haves'
- Visual acuity for color and fine detail due to color finish and material detail decisions
- Experience developing products for iPhone and other iOS devices
