The opportunity
My client in the Engineering industry seeks a full-time Marketing and Communications Specialist to join our client’s talented team of professionals in Burnaby, BC. The role carries out marketing strategies to support the company’s strategic plan by facilitating the marketing, sales and project communications as well as developing and maintain client relationships to increase the company’s portfolio.

What you’ll do
- Performs market research
- Designs client and internal communications materials
- Develops, creates, and updates marketing materials, such as website and social media content
- Assists in the coordination of trade shows and other marketing events
- Arranges seminars and lunch and learns through vendor communication and providing technical support
- Summarizes marketing and sales performance in period, monthly and annual, reports
- Other duties as required
- Identifies leads, collects detailed technical information regarding new enquiries and assign to qualified consultants
- Develop and carry out marketing strategies under the direction of the Partners
- Initiates and maintains communications with clients, vendors, and prospects, following up on proposal submissions as required

Plus you need the following
- Experience designing graphics and laying out documents using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
- Unmatched written and verbal communication skills and an eye for detail
- Experience copy-editing and proofreading multi-page technical documents, with an understanding of how to apply company writing style to memos, letters, reports, etc.
- Experience planning, creating, and publishing regular website content through WordPress or through multiple social media channels
- 3-5 years working in marketing and sales, preferably with small businesses, or engineering and consulting firms
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- A recognized bachelor’s degree or diploma in business, marketing, or communications
- Able to prioritize and multi-task
