Job Description
About Maple
Founded in 2015, Maple is a fast-growing health tech company with a vision to power the future of healthcare by building a connected and superior experience for patients, doctors, and other types of health providers.
We offer virtual care services across multiple distribution channels, including Direct-to-Consumer ("B2C"), Employers and Private Insurers ("B2B") and Public Sector Institutions ("B2I"). With a growing network of 2,000+ healthcare providers and nearly 4 million Canadians with access to our services, Maple is one of Canada’s fastest-growing virtual care companies.
We have established an entrepreneurial culture centered around our purpose to support people’s health and well-being, and to strengthen the healthcare system. We attribute our success to our team, who has helped us achieve numerous noteworthy awards including: Globe and Mail's #6 Top Growing Companies in Canada in 2021, #2 in Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50 2021, LinkedIn's Top 10 Startups in Canada 2020, and Bay Street Bull’s The Power 50: Canada’s Most Impactful Companies 2022.
THE POSITION
In support of a high-growth mandate, we’re hiring for a Product Marketing Manager to join our dynamic team and help us make healthcare more accessible through our D2C channel. With millions of Canadians already on the Maple app, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on the way people access healthcare and experience virtual care.
In this position, you’ll be responsible for driving product marketing efforts to increase the D2C adoption of virtual care through a subscription-based service, by leading our pricing and packaging strategy and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders including Product to prioritize features and experiences that enhance Maple’s unique value proposition for consumers.
Critical to success in this role will be your experience in understanding the nuances of the consumer journey and segments to inform cross-channel go-to-market plans and help us win in the D2C landscape. You have a strong focus on creating solutions that solve real-world customer problems, coupled with a passion for driving business results. You are metrics-driven and analytical, understand the importance of using data to make decisions, and have a proven ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. You champion a team-first mindset, and you possess a strong track record of developing and maintaining highly collaborative cross-functional relationships with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
Note: A healthcare background is not required for this position, however, it may be considered an asset depending on the level of experience.
12 – 18 MONTH DELIVERABLES
  • Within 90 days, you’ll leverage your understanding of our consumer segments, market, and competition, as well as our products and services, and marketing channels, to develop a plan to drive our KPIs. You’ll have established strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders such as Product, Marketing, and Data and Analytics, to help shape the D2C product marketing plan to increase adoption and product-market fit for Maple’s virtual care subscription service.
  • In the next 12 to 18 months, you’ll have significantly grown adoption, and recurring revenue for our D2C subscription business through enhanced pricing, packaging, and positioning for our consumer segments. You’ll have delivered a results-driven D2C offering which achieves strong product-market fit and is able to scale with the company.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of product marketing experience, or equivalent demonstrated experience with D2C experience gained in complex and high-growth SaaS and/or technology-driven organizations with digitally based operations.
  • With a gift for storytelling, the candidate is a strong writer and presenter and can tailor their communication style and content to different audiences as needed
  • The candidate has exceptional analytical skills with experience conducting research and using key insights to inform projects. They have a successful track record of building compelling messaging and positioning to stand out amongst the competition. They understand and have experience with pricing and packaging within a D2C environment. Experience with subscription-based models is considered an asset.
  • The candidate has the ability to manage multiple projects from end to end, including detailed project planning, resource allocation, and all related communications. They can balance competing priorities, switch focus as needed, and manage all of the details.
  • Collaborative by nature, the candidate is confident and comfortable when communicating ideas to senior management and can navigate stakeholder relationships to get buy-in and drive projects forward.
Not checking every box? Please apply anyway. We understand that candidates have different experiences that may make them a fantastic fit for this position, and for Maple. We value equity, diversity, and inclusion, and we’re committed to providing fair and equal opportunities to all applicants. We also want to provide an accessible interview process, so if there’s any accommodations that would make your experience more comfortable, please let us know.
