Procurement Director | Montreal,QC | Procurement | Up to 140K + Bonus

Hays is proud to partner with an established real estate client who is looking to recruit a Procurement Specialist. Your new role

As Procurement Director, you will be responsible for developing and managing procurement policies, procedures and programs, focusing on their ability to enhance the value and efficiency of the growing business.


Responsibilities Include;


Governance

  • Efficiently draft and manage calls for tender, contracts and contract renewals;
  • Promote good procurement practices within the company;
  • Develop synergies with the various business sectors in order to support them in the development, implementation and coordination of procurement-related processes;
  • Establish contract negotiation strategies in collaboration with business units;
  • Use an approach based on contract risk analysis that takes into account compliance with business requirements;
  • Ensure that the company's procurement policies and guidelines are understood and respected;
  • Agree on a supplier selection (accreditation) process and research new suppliers;
  • Maintain a supplier management documentation system;


Performance

  • Implement cost reduction strategies adapted to the real estate field (corporate and operational expenses) while respecting deadlines and quality standards;
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with major suppliers/partners;
  • In connection with the real estate acquisition and disposal strategy, implement the necessary tools to ensure transactional support and the integration of new suppliers;
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices (benchmark), procurement market trends and ensure continuous improvement of procurement processes;
  • Implement performance indicators to measure and analyze the purchase of goods and services.


Purchasing management system

  • Contribute to the improvement of business processes and business intelligence.
  • Responsible for managing the procurement software


Resource management

  • Ensure the coordination and development of procurement consultants under his/her supervision.


What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a procurement or purchasing role, 5 years in a leadership role, Bachelors in a relevant field, strong strategy and negotiation skills, comfortable in a project environment, strong contract management skills, have the ability to work on fast paced and changing environment, have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and are bilingual.
