Pharmaceutical Facilities Project Engineer

Role and Responsibilities:

• Execute commissioning and validation documents
• Varying amount of travel required (project dependent)
• Apply standards and guidelines in project work as directed
• Produce project reports, schedules and support project planning and proposal processes as required
• Adhere to all client policies, procedures and standards
• Ensure project deliverables are met in a timely manner
• Prepare facility documentation, including URSs, drawings, commissioning and validation protocols and review these documents to identify deficiencies
• Coordinate with facility contractors (Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) during procurement, installation, commissioning and validation activities
• Create and revise engineering drawings, including PFDs, P&IDS, Room and Equipment Layouts, Material and People Flow
• Work closely with client project teams providing technical and project support to supervisors, managers and engineers for facility start-up, renovation, and expansion projects
• Facilitate cross functional meetings with internal and external stakeholders
• Initiate and support change control requests
• Manage and act as an SME for all phases of facilities projects including planning, feasibility studies, engineering assessments, specifications preparation, design reviews, procurement management, installation, commissioning, validation, and start-up activities

Qualifications:

• Team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• AutoCAD experience strongly preferred
• Degree in Engineering (mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, process preferred)
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and engineering practices preferred
• Experience in facilities projects required, including but not limited to HVAC, Clean Utilities, GMP Manufacturing and Packaging rooms, and Flow Optimization
• Proficient with computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
• Strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Other graphical software experience preferred
• P.Eng or working towards obtaining license in Ontario
