Overview A Facilities Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and operation of a facility’s physical infrastructure. This includes the building, grounds, and equipment. The Facilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the facility is safe, efficient, and compliant with all applicable regulations. Detailed Job Description The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and operation of a facility’s physical infrastructure. This includes the building, grounds, and equipment. The Facilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the facility is safe, efficient, and compliant with all applicable regulations. The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of all facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems. The Facilities Engineer is also responsible for the development and implementation of preventive maintenance plans, as well as the development and implementation of energy conservation measures. The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the coordination of all facility-related activities, including the scheduling of contractors and vendors. The Facilities Engineer is also responsible for the management of facility-related budgets. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems
• Knowledge of applicable regulations and codes
• Knowledge of energy conservation measures
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field
• Certification in a related field (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
• 5+ years of experience in a related field
• Knowledge of building systems and equipment
• Knowledge of applicable regulations and codes
• Knowledge of energy conservation measures
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
