Position Summary
We are looking for a National Key Account Manager - Amazon based at our PetCare Division in Mississauga, Ontario reporting into the Director of e-Business. Our goal in winning share during this phase of rapid growth in eCommerce drives the need for a passionate and agile individual who can deliver sales objectives on volume, retail and media executions while also managing the budget and P&L. This individual requires the ability to influence, strengthen and manage the relationship with Amazon. The role is responsible for the Amazon account “go to market” strategic plan, leads retail and media negotiations, drives brand representation/discoverability, online purchases, loyalty and creates customer and company value by consistently measuring performance and identifying opportunities for improvement. This role will accelerate Nestle Purina PetCare eCommerce sales by anticipating customer needs, developing, and executing short- and long-term strategy and evolving plans based on changing market dynamics.
A day in the life of a National Key Account Manager - Amazon:
As a National Key Account Manager - Amazon, you will be responsible for: customer management, commercial planning, developing digital marketing strategy, budget management, competitive business solutions management, sales projections and analytics/reporting. The primary goal is to grow sales, market share and profit for the pure play eCommerce channel.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Annual Business Planning (JBP): Build and lead full year Joint Business Plans. Responsible for determining the internal/external priorities and leading the negotiation with Amazon in consultation with the Director of eCommerce to reach a mutually acceptable agreement that delivers value
  • Account Management: Owns and manages the planning and execution of revenue and trade plans to deliver on profit and share expectations. Optimize new product listings and launches with Amazon in line with the strategic distribution targets of the organization. Execute both external and internal daily management tasks including, but not isolated to, sales reporting, promotional programs, order management, Amazon catalogue availability and marketing optimization
  • Strategy Development: Formulate and implement a strategic retail and media plan to maximize volume, profit, and share. Leads the integration of eCommerce strategies into Channel playbook
  • Forecasting and Supply Management: Accurately forecast volume through market insights and clear identification of risks and opportunities on a monthly cycle. Work with our Customer Facing Supply Chain team to improve internal forecast accuracy and drive operational efficiencies externally with the Director of eCommerce
  • Market Insight/Analytics: Monitor and identify external competitive activity, trends, market issues and opportunities. Analyse the key promotional activities and business trends to understand results and develop recommendations for future activities based on insights
  • Search: Supports the Search Senior eCommerce Manager in planning & execution of best-in-class search strategies, ensuring effective positioning of Purina brands in both paid and organic placements
  • Merchandising & Media: Lead development of digital merchandising strategies, product carousels, brand hubs, taxonomy, site architecture, grouping, title strategies and provides support on e-Content
What will make you successful?
As the successful candidate, you will need to be passionate, agile, tenacious, results focused and have hands-on experience in customer relationship management and a strong sales, marketing and/or eCommerce background. You will already have highly developed organizational, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills coupled with problem solving and strategic business thinking approach. You will have a strong financial acumen with strong analytical skills with a good understanding of profit & loss drivers and solid planning and forecasting knowledge. Pro-activity, tenacity and enthusiasm are essential, as is your ability to understand and work within our competitive market.
He or she needs to be a disruptive thinker who can see opportunities and inspire the organization to take action, but also be a team player who can navigate the organization efficiently, work through any roadblocks that may arise and deliver results with little direction. You have a strong ability to connect the dots, work across multiple functions – internally and externally, comfortable with ambiguity and have strong competitive intensity. Most importantly you are agile and have the ability to quickly pivot and deliver an experience in an environment with continuous change and high complexity.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Possess organizational, communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • +5 years’ sales experience in CPG (consumer packaged goods) working with National accounts; minimum of 2 years of experience with Amazon
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft office, data transfer and data base)
  • Be able to handle and prioritize multiple projects and tasks with little direction
  • Demonstrated negotiation, customer diagnostics and large account management experience
  • Familiarity with Amazon advertising platforms, including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and DSP (Demand-Side Platform)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to think strategically, and to manage multiple tasks and projects in parallel
  • Ability to forecast sales, manage budget, and understand return on investment
  • Demonstrated understanding of browsers, analytics, reporting, content management systems and processes
  • Strong facilitation skills and the ability to prioritize, delegate, and implement in a high performing environment
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce, digital marketing, and sales principles
  • Completion of a University Degree in Business Administration or Digital Commerce
