Job Title: Project Director - Mechanical Construction (Toronto, ON)

As they continue to grow, a job opportunity has been created for an experienced and dynamic Project Director to oversee all tenant improvement and special projects within the portfolio. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading all Project Managers, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring the successful execution of projects.
Job Overview: As the Project Director for Mechanical Construction, you will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of tenant improvement and special projects. Your leadership skills will be paramount, as you will be leading a team of Project Managers while acting as a vital liaison between our esteemed clients and the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management Leadership:
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budget, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to Project Managers, guiding them in project planning, execution, and delivery.
- Review and approve project plans, scope, and schedules to ensure feasibility and alignment with client requirements.
Client and Stakeholder Management:
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs, preferences, and concerns.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure clear communication and seamless coordination with all stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any inquiries or issues promptly and professionally.
Resource Allocation and Coordination:
- Identify resource requirements for projects and collaborate with the HR team to allocate appropriate personnel to project teams.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination between cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Implement quality assurance procedures to uphold the highest standards of workmanship and project delivery.
Budgeting and Financial Management:
- Oversee project budgets, expenses, and financial performance to ensure projects remain within the defined financial parameters.
- Collaborate with the finance team to provide accurate and timely financial reports to the executive management team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Proven track record of at least 8-10 years of experience in project management within the mechanical construction industry.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team of Project Managers effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Previous experience in managing sheet metal, piping, and plumbing projects is highly desirable.
