Mechanical Superintendent Jobs

The Opportunity:

Our client, a leading and established mechanical contractor in the British Columbia Lower Mainland, is looking for an experienced and team oriented Mechanical Superintendent who specializes in high-rise residential and commercial structures to join their team. In this role you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, organizing, directing, and controlling projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Provide mentorship and development to up and coming personnel through regular feedback
• Work closely with the President, Project Manager and Project Coordinator
• Training or arrange for the training of workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies in coordination with Head Office
• Ensure standards for safe working conditions are followed
• Resolve problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
• Conduct employee orientations and safety meetings
• Prep As-Built drawings to be plotted to AutoCAD
• Create methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments, subcontractors, lead hands and supervisors
• Coordinate and order materials and supplies by submitting material requisitions to Head Office
• Work with designers to produce AutoCAD canning and layout drawings
• Manage, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of apprentices and journeymen
• Prepare schedules, work progress, production, and other reports
• Oversee day-to-day field activities

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

• Strong communication skills and ability to create and maintain relationships with clients and sub trades
• Thorough knowledge of the BC Plumbing Code
• 5+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Superintendent / Plumbing Foreman
• Ability to run and motivate a complete plumbing crew of 10 personnel or more, in a positive and professional manner
• Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
• Full mechanical experience in concrete high-rise buildings including good understanding of heating systems
