WHAT YOU DO:

As an experienced Superintendent, you will run civil projects from planning to completion and ensure the smooth function of the day-to-day operations. You thrive on leading projects and delivering them on-time and within budget by focusing on cost, safety, quality, and management.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Schedule testing with consultant, municipality, and suppliers.
• Coordinates suppliers, material and equipment, scheduling, managing performance, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and managing progress, ensuring work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
• Ensures that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications and design drawings while ensuring that high quality standards are maintained.
• Strategically plan and implement manpower levels, material quantities and ensures proper equipment is available as required.
• Plan, schedule, initiate, direct, and control civil construction projects from start to finish according to plans and schedule to ensure timelines, specifications and budget are met.
• Submits accurate timesheets for civil team using project software.
• Supervises employees and sub-contractors to achieve all required project deliverables.
• Track, communicate and coordinate RFI’s, SI’s and drawing changes.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and Site Superintendent for Development.
• Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders, subcontractors, and staff. Assist in budgeting for project.
• Demonstrates leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on project. Apply applicable OH&S requirements and other regulations and codes to promote overall compliance with all employees and subcontractors.
• Prepares project report daily to accurately track progress, site events, inspections and other relevant information and issue project schedules to subcontractors.
• Develops, maintains and drives the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team; ensures project milestones and completion dates are met.
• Assumes a leadership role and provides guidance to project team members.

WHO YOU ARE:

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience a Civil Superintendent or similar role and in build-out construction.
• Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Working knowledge of local safety and health guidelines for construction job sites.
• Knowledge of alternative civil methods – plowing and trenching.
• Familiarity with CAD, Jonas, and GPS Survey is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office – primarily word, excel and outlook.
• A strong work ethic, driven and results focused.
• Proven leadership skills: ability to guide staff in high pressure and fast paced work environments while maintaining project quality, schedule and budget.
• Degree in Engineering, construction management or similar field considered an asset.
• Capable of anticipating constructability issues in complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule.
• In-depth understanding of construction operations, processes, and drawings.
