The Construction division of Northland Properties Corporation is looking for a Site Superintendent for its renovation projects in Vancouver, BC.

What will you be responsible for?


Your Duties Will Include The Following


As a Construction Site Superintendent, you will report to the Project Manager and be responsible for leading on-site activities to ensure timely and within-budget completion of projects with high-quality standards. You will be in charge of building a site team and working collaboratively with other divisions, including procurement, operations, construction, and design, as well as enforcing best practices, monitoring project expenditures and maintaining a safe work environment.


  • Hire, train, and assign employees, crew and subcontractors, providing coaching, counselling, and discipline if necessary to achieve high performance and quality.
  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of the crew.
  • Monitor project expenditures, identify labour, equipment, and materials variances, and implement corrective actions to meet the construction budget.
  • Monitor and control employees, crew and subcontractors' performance, communicate job expectations, evaluate job contributions and recommend compensation actions, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Create construction schedules to meet project timelines, standards and budget parameters.
  • Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
  • Prevent fines and interruptions by following standards and enforcing codes and regulations.
  • Enforce best building practices, conducting daily inspections to maintain construction quality standards, resolving problems and implementing measures to improve efficiency.


What are we looking for?


  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • 5+ years of experience in similar roles.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in construction.
  • Familiarity with construction codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Great interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of all safety procedures, hazard recognition, and proactive risk mitigation to ensure health & safety standards.
  • Detail-oriented, versatile and flexible, with excellent creative and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competence in project scheduling, cost estimation and budget management.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documentation.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, with good initiative and strong work ethic.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and expertise in concrete work, forming, and all trade activities.
