Mechanical Design Manager Jobs

Previous experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Create 2D/3D manufacturing data using SolidWorks/AutoCAD.

Review existing engineering drawings and draft drawing changes to support design change projects as directed.

Provide simple root cause investigation under direction/supervision from applicable department leads.

Current engineering student (bachelors or masters)

AutoCAD 2D Drafting, SolidWorks/CATIA 3D Drafting, Microsoft Office, reading and interpreting engineering drawings

Take ownership for design development while ensuring compliance to scope, budget, schedule, design requirements, and departmental procedures

University Degree, College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or experience equivalence gained through working in the field of Mechanical Design

A minimum of 3 years of relevant automotive or mechanical design experience

Complete mechanical design tasks on assigned vehicle system(s)

Collaborate with colleagues and customers in the development optimized design solutions

Automotive powertrain systems - suspension, axles, steering, brakes, drivelines

Collaborate with the finance team to provide accurate and timely financial reports to the executive management team.

Proven track record of at least 8-10 years of experience in project management within the mechanical construction industry.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team of Project Managers effectively.

Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Provide strategic direction and oversight to Project Managers, guiding them in project planning, execution, and delivery.

• Good understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and experience applying the standard to mechanical parts

• Experience in the manufacturing and testing of subsystems, assemblies and components is considered an asset

• Experience in dealing with program or project groups for technical discussions.

• Communication skills – oral and written

Set-up spare part list, and follow-up spare parts, consignment stock, and consumables with Store Manager to ensure smooth operation.

· 5+ years’ experience in Heavy Equipment fleet maintenance

· Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar

· Engineering and supervision skills

Develop a continuous improvement process aligned to ISO requirements (supported by management)

Provide management and technical support to team members

Attends project meetings and management meetings

Develop and execute a communication process for Project Managers, Field Managers, Project Coordinators, and the Productivity Leader

Develop and expand internal surveying capabilities.

Manages the day-to-day activities of the team

Knowledge of PLM Teamcenter as well as Catia V5 and Solidwork which include BOM management.

Take on BOM (Bill of Material) management according to the system release phase.

Develop engineering solutions, including CAD modeling for vehicle engineering systems which meet vehicle and system requirements.

Perform design work that will respect GD&T tolerancing target, manufacturing process capabilities and systems interface.

Experienced with 3D modeling and mechanical design in integrated vehicle system components.

Experienced with GD&T standards and norms.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Preferably Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Relevant equivalent education will be considered

Must have a minimum of 3 years’ recent industry experience in mechanical engineering and hydraulics

Minimum of 3 year teaching experience, and 1-year curriculum development and design experience are considered assets

Instruct high-level technology courses to mature learners
