Job Title: Hybrid Project Manager / Estimator (Piping/Steamfitting Background)
Location: Southwest Ontario and Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
Compensation: Over $100,000 per year, including a truck

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our team as a Hybrid Project Manager / Estimator. This role requires a strong background in piping and steamfitting, exceptional client-facing skills, and a proven track record in project management and estimating.

As a Hybrid Project Manager / Estimator, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing the successful execution of industrial projects involving piping and steamfitting. Your responsibilities will include estimating project costs, coordinating with clients, managing project teams, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our clients. This is a client-facing role that requires professionalism, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Estimating:
- Present and explain estimates to clients, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Conduct thorough reviews of project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to identify project requirements and scope.
- Prepare accurate and detailed project estimates, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other project-related costs.
Project Management:
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement timely solutions to keep projects on track.
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
- Manage all aspects of project execution, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and budget control.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication, trust, and professionalism.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and resolving issues promptly.
- Proactively identify opportunities for additional services or project extensions, fostering client loyalty and satisfaction.
Team Leadership:
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project goals, progress, and address any concerns.
- Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure efficient resource allocation to meet project objectives.
- Lead and motivate project teams, including field personnel, subcontractors, and support staff.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the piping and steamfitting field.
- Participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and implement improvements for future projects.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management and estimating within the industrial sector, with a strong focus on piping and steamfitting projects.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of industrial piping systems, codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Proven experience in preparing accurate project estimates and managing projects within budget and timeline constraints.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing project teams and subcontractors.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as required.
