Position Title: Manager, Social Work

Location: Edmonton, AB (On-site)

Type: Permanent, full-time

The Position

You will hold a pivotal leadership position for our Edmonton-based client, operating independently to provide essential supervision to Support Workers while also offering hands-on frontline assistance as required. We are seeking an individual who embodies patience, kindness, trustworthiness, maturity, empathy, and a nurturing disposition. In addition, excellent communication skills coupled with strong leadership abilities are paramount.

What You'll Do

• Ensure that Support Workers possess the necessary skills to effectively aid individuals, fostering opportunities that facilitate relationship building.
• Guarantee the delivery of personal care in a respectful and private manner.
• Attend and follow up on medical appointments; administer First Aid as necessary.
• Engage in light housekeeping, meal preparation, including grocery procurement and proper food storage.
• Take charge of in-house training, continuous coaching, and the assessment of staff performance.
• Address concerns promptly and appropriately.
• Oversee and offer guidance to our frontline Support Workers, especially during their training and while demonstrating their capabilities in a residential setting.

Mandatories

• Verification of Child & Youth Intervention Record.
• These documents must align with our client's established standards.
• Possession of a dependable vehicle for transportation, along with a Class 5 AB Driver's License and liability insurance.
• Certification in Intermediate First Aid / CPR Level C.
• Clearance from a Police Check.
• A diploma or degree in the field of Human Services is obligatory.
• Preference given to candidates with prior experience in disability support services.
• Completion of these prerequisites prior to hiring is mandatory; associated costs are the responsibility of the candidate.
