Position Summary:


Reporting to the Associate Director, Terminal Infrastructure Response, this position leads the Management of all systems within the Terminal Facilities (Terminals, Parking Structures and Automated People Movers (APM) to ensure the systems are available and operating at efficient standards by ensuring that response to maintenance calls and repairs meets all expectations set out by the customer. Service levels must adhere to established levels of operating performance.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Develop expectations of performance and standards of excellence, audit work performance, ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Must be a customer centric Leader with respect to the Mission, Vision, Values and Beliefs
  • Resolve technical problems that may arise in relation to outages of the Terminal’s Systems
  • Review financial and other supporting data to measure the performance of the Response activities. Identify work program improvements and implement changes to achieve performance targets
  • Support design and construction projects intended to expand and/or restore Terminal Systems
  • Provide practical insight and assist Technical Services relating to the Terminal System’s Asset Management Program
  • Plan, recruit, coach and mentor team to develop, support and emulate the values of the corporation
  • Work with Human Resources, lead labour relations issues in a fair and consistent manner. Provide insight and participate in grievances and arbitration
  • Support the Operational Performance Manager, negotiate with suppliers and contractors to build efficient service level agreements
  • Influence and lead by clearly defining what expectations and success looks like in order to develop a positive, balanced and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations
  • Lead the maintenance team for response to System outages and non-intrusive preventative maintenance tasks within the Terminals within budget and aligned to the system work plan


The salary for this management non-unionized position is competitive based on the successful candidate’s qualifications.


Qualifications:


  • Obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance
  • Experience working in a unionized environment will be considered an asset
  • Able to obtain an Airport Vehicle Operating Permit (AVOP) within 60 days of securing the position
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a maintenance environment with a focus on mechanical, electrical, conveyance and/or base building systems
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in People Management (direct report or cross-functional) in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a customer centric environment
  • Working towards a professional designation in Facilities Management (BOMI, IFMA, PEMAC designation) is preferred
  • Possess a Post-Secondary degree or diploma in a related field or minimum 5 years of combined equivalent work experience and education

The GTAA is a federally regulated private sector. The Government of Canada has suspended mandatory vaccination requirement for federally regulated transportation sector workers. The GTAA continues to monitor government and health developments relating to COVID -19 and may re-introduce the Vaccination and proof of Vaccination requirements in the Policy at any time.
