Job Description
JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our growing team.


The Opportunity


Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for managing a group of Professional Trades people as well as Maintenance Technicians and be responsible for maintaining the Plant machinery, building repair and maintenance as well as the maintenance of the property.


What You Will Do


  • Develop a highly successful team of Professional Trades people as well as Maintenance Technicians.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must adhere to all Company and Health & Safety policies.
  • Develop and implement industry best practices and maintenance KPI’s.
  • Prepare and manage R&M budget (labor, materials, and services).
  • Leadership of all plant maintenance employees and contractors.
  • Work together with the various Managers in the Plant towards continuous improvements and efficiencies within the manufacturing operation.
  • Apply good stores management practices and parts management to ensure parts and equipment retain full reliability while stored.
  • Provide guidance and input into capital projects. Build and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, manufacturing, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain systems in accordance with all applicable municipal, provincial, and federal acts, by-laws, and regulations.
  • Safety and environmental leadership within the maintenance function.
  • Continually develop documentation, equipment history, inventory strategy, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Schedule maintenance work into production plan.


Who You Are


  • Experience dealing with personnel matters including recruitment, performance evaluation and discipline.
  • Post-Graduation in Engineering/ Red Seal certification preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Safety and other Provincial Regulations, City By-laws, and local regulation amendments.
  • Knowledge of maintenance management practices and procedures including safety, budget, and human resource management.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and fabrication, industrial electrical exposure, computers, VFD’s, PLC’s as well as the ability to read schematics.
  • At least 5 years of plant maintenance experience in a leadership role.
  • Post-secondary education in an accredited Engineering or Technology program or equivalent Trades designation.


How You Stand Out


  • Certification in maintenance reliability would be considered an asset.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, and MS Project.
  • Highly customer service orientated.
  • Effective management of consultants, construction sub-trades. and sub-contracting of work to outside firms.
  • Experience in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.
  • Strong planning and implementation skills.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
