About The Organization


The Mennonite New Life Centre Toronto (MNLCT) is a vibrant, multi-cultural settlement agency for newcomers to Canada. The Centre provides a variety of settlement services, including information/orientation, language instruction, mental health supports and capacity building workshops, public education and bridging to employment. The Centre is a tech-forward charity that utilizes technology solutions to meet the needs of its stakeholders.


About The Position


The Bridging Program Manager is responsible for planning and directing the efficient execution of Bridging Programs and other adult education programs within the Mennonite New Life Centre of Toronto (MNLCT). Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will require demonstrable success in strategic thinking and development of innovative community initiatives with Adult Education as a focus for labor market integration, mental health and community engagement. The Manager will also develop sustainable funding streams to support Bridging and other adult education programs at MNLCT. Leading and inspiring teams along with employing an evidence-based approach to program development and evaluation will be a corner-stone of this position.


As part of the leadership team, this position will also support key committees within the organization and will be a steward of community partnerships throughout the organization.


Responsibilities


  • Participate in fundraising (i.e. annual campaigns, fundraising events, crowd funding, etc.) and building/maintaining donor relationships;
  • Monitor the effectiveness of programs curriculum, ensuring the Centre is complying with the student’s needs and the funder’s requirements.
  • Provides strategic and operational oversight of adult education programs including the development and implementation of relevant projects, reporting (narrative, qualitative and financial), evaluation of deliverables and outcomes;
  • Strengthen MNLCT’s organizational infrastructure by developing sound policies and procedures that support the Centre’s mission, vision and service standards including the creation of capacity building tools and resources;
  • Provide oversight on reports to funders, in collaboration with program/project Managers and negotiate budget slippage or overages when needed;
  • Manage the evaluation process for adult education programs and projects via the use of evaluation protocols and tools and data analysis against performance indicators;
  • Provide facility management and guidance to ensure program property is safe and clean for all stakeholders;
  • Build upon the existing relationships and strong collaborations with stakeholders including funders, partners, community groups, multi-sector associates and sector collaborators to strengthen, improve and expand MNLCT educational offerings;
  • Work closely with Finance department in order to meet requirements in terms of budget;
  • Establish and nurture effective and mutually beneficial relationships with all client groups, employers and community partners;
  • Develop and review strategies and policies pertaining to outreach, communication and social media to create a sound outreach and communication plan for MNLCT’s adult education programs;
  • Provide guidance, coaching/mentoring to the involved managers and contractors to ensure achievement of program/project goals and objectives;
  • Work with direct reports, to develop annual operating work plans and budget to ensure the achievement of programs and projects results.


Qualifications


  • At least 5 years of experience in program management, preferably within the area of adult education, settlement and integration of newcomers;
  • Passion for people and social justice. Empathy, cultural sensitivity and anti-oppression approach;
  • Superb Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to assess the changing needs of those served by the settlement and human services sector and to employs this information to create responsive and meaningful programs;
  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience;
  • Understanding and critical analysis of challenges and systemic barriers to labor market integration for newcomer professionals;
  • Experience and success with staff supervision;
  • Proven ability to communicate, collaborate and advocate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders;
