Job Summary
The Manager, General Assembly is responsible for providing a high quality, professional, and member-focused service to the General Assembly and all of its supporting structure including the General Assembly Steering Committee, the Priority and Leadership Group, Issues & Policy, Compensation, and Advocacy panels, and a number of working groups. The position works with colleagues across the organization on a range of governance activities, and lead on identifying and delivering opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the governance structure.
You Will Make a Difference By

• Providing management to the development and execution of the General Assembly meetings
• Taking board approved, member driven priorities, working closely with members to scope and define major priorities
• Supporting internal change management initiatives
• In addition to the Senior Director, General Assembly, providing direct executive support to the committee Chairs
• Leading the development of governance and General Assembly related documents
• Developing recommendations to scale up the review and analysis of member submitted ideas as the new process garners more interest from members. Recommendations will need to use limited resources and work to reduce burden on OMA departments through process improvements and optimization
• Onboarding and orientation of General Assembly bodies
• Providing strategic oversight and direction related to General Assembly Steering Committee, panels, and select working groups
• Is a primary point of contact for staff supporting the General Assembly and Priority and Leadership Group Meetings

Requirements That Are Important To Us

• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to raise difficult issues with senior executives in a meeting environment.
• Be a collaborative team player with a flexible approach
• Have excellent IT skills, including virtual meeting software, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
• Have excellent attention to detail including proof reading skills
• Supports the organization’s commitment to respect equity, inclusion, diversity, and anti-racism.
• Ability to present pragmatic alternatives and propose solutions
• 6+ years of experience leading cross functional teams and providing committee and secretariat support
• Undergraduate degree in Public Administration, Health Policy or equivalent experience
• Coordinates analysis from across different groups and undertakes quality assurance of materials
• Maintaining quality standards during times of change.
• Be able to identify and recommend improvements to existing processes, to align with developments in governance practice and improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Excellent relationship management skills, able to work with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Take full responsibility and accountability for your own tasks, while seeking advice and assistance when necessary
• Ability to build and manage relationships with both internal and external contacts

The OMA has moved to a permanent hybrid work environment. As such, the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office.
