What will you work on?


The Production Manager, Development is responsible for overseeing multiple new content projects, from concept through to completion of the development phase. The Production Manager, Development must have a strong understanding of the development process and general animation pipelines and work closely with the Creative Director, SME and the VP, Production to ensure the timely execution of the day-to-day requirements. The Production Manager, Development works collaboratively with all internal and external parties involved in the SME development phase.


What will you work on?


Working Closely With Creative Director


  • Source and oversee external third party vendors/freelancers.
  • Oversee completion and delivery of presentation assets and testing materials (logos, artwork, leicas, trailers).
  • Provide other administrative support, as required.
  • Provide day-to-day scheduling and other administrative support for team to ensure key dates and milestones are met.
  • Collaborate with Toy and other internal departments to ensure timely delivery of required materials.
  • Deal with accounts and expenses related to the development, and oversee cost reporting and budgets.
  • Oversee select development processes as required, which may include: initiating and completing, or organizing guild/union documentation, sourcing freelancers, negotiating and managing contracts, clearance materials, ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Create and manage micro schedules, status reports and trackers including but not limited to design breakdowns, asset trackers and script schedules.
  • As required, liaise with SME’s Legal, Business Affairs, Finance, and Accounting departments to ensure all paperwork requirements are met.


Working With Production Coordinator (s)


  • Ensure all coordinator assignments are up to date.
  • Oversee communication and delivery of all deliverables.
  • Ensure data is tracked, stored and distributed as required.
  • Organize travel arrangements (including accommodation) for cast, crew and Development team.
  • Work with internal and external production personnel to ensure proper documentation is being completed and collected during production.
  • Travel for meetings as required.


What are your skills and experience?


  • General understanding of and experience working with customary broadcast delivery guidelines, requirements and technical specifications.
  • Some knowledge and understanding of WGC IPA, WGA, DGC, and ACTRA IPA, specifically related to Animation provisions
  • General understanding of the animation production process.
  • 3-5 years’ previous experience in animated television series productions, in a Production Coordinator role or higher.
  • A high level of proficiency in Word, Final Draft, Power Point and Excel.
