Recruiter - One Year Contract

Techmation Electric & Controls Ltd is currently seeking a Recruiter for a one-year contract for our Acheson branch.

Techmation works on a variety of Industrial Construction and Maintenance projects throughout Western Canada.

As a Recruiter You Will Be Responsible For

• Design, administer and monitor advertising through various avenues such as print, social media, job boards, and radio
• Complete necessary pre-employment processes such as reference and background checks, scheduling drug/alcohol/medical testing and verifying required certifications
• Work closely with management to ensure up to date manpower needs are being met
• Maintaining the Applicant Tracking Systems with up-to-date information
• Recruit for multiple positions and locations at one time
• Organize and attend career and job fairs/other recruiting related training
• Helping to develop recruiting strategies in order to identify qualified candidates through various recruiting tools
• Build and maintain relationships with post secondary institutions and universities for recruitment of new graduates
• Schedule candidates for testing, safety certifications, orientations, and other employment requirements
• Evaluating candidate skills compared to job requirements through screening and interviewing
• Assisting Corporate Recruiter, hiring managers, and candidates to streamline the hiring process

Qualifications

• Have a relevant HR degree, OR at least 6 months related recruiting/HR experience
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must have good phone etiquette and the ability to speak with active and passive candidates
• Those with specific trades recruitment experience, such as electrical and instrumentation, would be considered an asset
• Must have the ability to work independently and take initiative
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Knowledge and recruitment of Indigenous workforce would be considered an asset as Techmation is an equal opportunity employer who will seek out new opportunities with Indigenous communities in all areas where we work
• Prior experience working with an Applicant Tracking System is an asset (currently use AcquireTM)
• Excellent time management skills
