Your Opportunity
BDO Canada requires a Manager of Corporate Projects to join our team in a hybrid arrangement sitting out of either our Winnipeg or downtown Toronto locations. The successful candidate will support the Director and Senior Manager of Transformation, responsible for ensuring all assigned projects are running smoothly, on budget and on time. This position will also require you to liaise with multiple project teams to gather, analyze, and monitor project data, as well as prepare project status reports. To ensure success in this role, you should be able to identify internal clients’ business needs and meet those through effective project management, analytical prowess, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff members and management.
Your Opportunity
  • Work collaboratively with other project managers within BDO’s PMO to develop and maintain a consistent and repeatable project management framework and methodology that is aligned with the organization's objectives and strategies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that projects are aligned with business objectives and that stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the projects you are responsible for
  • Assist the planning and implementation of project management strategies, based on templates and toolsets
  • Gather and analyze project data to identify its weaknesses and resolve any time-related or budgetary risks
  • Establish and maintain program and project level performance dashboards
  • Prepare project status reports for sponsors/management review
  • Work with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimum disruption to business operations
  • Manage, monitor, and communicate the roadmap and budget
  • Ensure all project strategies are in compliance with company standards, as well as federal laws and regulations where applicable
  • Superior communication skills including experience in developing and delivering presentations to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor existing projects to ensure timely execution and completion
  • Demonstrated experience working with Executive level stakeholders and managing expectation
  • Liaise with your sponsors as well as project team members and provide suggestions or solutions to unforeseen issues when needed
  • Communicate with internal clients about the status and progress of their projects
  • Establish personal engagement agreement with business sponsor(s) and stakeholder(s) to facilitate shared meaning and commitment to goals
  • In conjunction with PMO, define and promote governance

Your Experience And Education
  • You have highly developed analytical skills, good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • You bring excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work respectfully and inclusively with a diverse employee population
  • You offer expert level competency working with MS Project, and ideally have completed MS Project certifications
  • You hold a bachelor's degree in project management, or a similar field e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP certifications. Prosci or ADKAR Certifications are also considered assets
  • You offer proven organizational abilities and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
  • You bring previous experience in a professional service and/or service delivery environment.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
  • You have strong knowledge of MS Suite of products (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint)
  • You possess excellent knowledge of project management strategies, processes, and tools
  • You bring a minimum of 3 year's experience as a PMO analyst, project manager, or a similar role.
  • You bring strong program coordination and administration abilities
