As a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, National Security, Search & Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro1-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.


About The Role


We are currently seeking a detail oriented and energetic team player to support the growth of our business. You will be responsible for driving revenue performance and execution by teaming up with operations, program management, contracts and finance. This is a diverse position that would be appealing to a self‐starter who enjoys a varied workload and the opportunity to apply their knowledge in differing business environments. The position is highly visible to WESCAM’s senior leadership team with weekly and quarterly touch points. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take true ownership of this area of expertise for L3Harris WESCAM’s finance team.


Primary Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities and challenge revenue owners to accelerate revenue recognition
  • Optimize revenue plan to meet cash collection targets
  • Lead daily closure call presentations for WESCAM Senior Leadership, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all information
  • Create multiple scenario and sensitivity analyses for presentation to Director of Finance
  • Own “Build and Ship” weekly and monthly reporting, including variance analysis
  • Expert in ASC 606 to understand revenue recognition alternatives
  • Partner with program management to identify opportunities to accelerate revenue
  • Review revenue contracts and Contract Review Worksheets (CRWs) to conclude on revenue recognition for each contract
  • Drive revenue performance and report out to WESCAM Senior Leadership Team
  • Engage with WESCAM and Corporate accounting teams to ensure revenue recognition criteria is met
  • Manage group of Financial Analysts providing guidance, feedback and optimizing performance
  • Develop and execute action plans to close risks and opportunities
  • Liaise with various functions to ensure action plans are tracking to closure
  • Engage with sister divisions on intercompany revenue alignment


Required Capabilities


  • Excellent ERP navigation skills
  • Strong presentation capability to Senior Leaders
  • Knowledge of ERP LN is an asset
  • Open, honest customer-centric attitude
  • Advanced knowledge of revenue consolidation
  • Basic relational database knowledge and SQL preferred, not mandatory
  • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with related key managers and support staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of dashboard software like Tableau and Power BI preferred, not mandatory
  • Advanced knowledge in other MS Office suite software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Basic knowledge of Power Query considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition under ASC 606 / IFRS 15
  • Work consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area with a strong focus on continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of database concepts, capabilities, and consolidating big data


Desired Education and Experiences


  • May have in-depth knowledge of project management.
  • Requires comprehensive level knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience at an Accounting Firm or in an Accounting department at a Public or Private Company is an asset
  • CPA/CA/CMA/CGA or equivalent
