Position Summary
Reporting to the Lead Web Developer on the Digital Marketing Team, the Intermediate UX Web Developer is responsible for website development including WordPress theme/template customization, website creation/redesigns, building components and SPAs, creating conversion centric landing pages, and other UI & performance optimizations. In collaboration with our Creative Design team, as a web developer you’ll have a big impact on all of our online lead generating web assets from UI/UX Development perspective.

• Develop mobile responsive landing pages and websites with an eye for conversion centric design.

• Creating a positive and interactive user experience on our corporate websites.
• Problem solving, debugging code, coming up innovative solutions
• Ensuring all work adheres to current industry best practice.
• Front-end development including WordPress template customization, developing new sites and improving functionality, building web apps, and creating components using PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Participate in daily stand ups and take on development tasks from the weekly backlog
• Participate in strategy workshops to develop business, design, and technical plans
• Lead the evolution of dynamic and personalization capabilities while supporting UX

Required Experience

• Some experience with personalization tools considered an asset
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks like VueJS and React
• Strong understanding of interaction design principles, technical SEO, and accessibility standards
• Some experience with relational Databases and JSON for API integrations
• Minimum 5+ years of proven experience building customer facing websites that works across wide variety of devices and browsers
• A diploma or a degree related to UI/UX development and design or a relevant field is an asset
• Experience with development build tools such as SASS, GULP, Node/NPM, and GIT.
• Strong skills with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, WordPress, Bootstrap, JQuery, and working with REST APIs
• Experience working in a fast pace agile environment
• Experience with design tools like Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, Photoshop and converting design mockups to code.
• Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills
• Recent UI/UX certification an asset

• Demonstrated ability to synthesize real user feedback into designs
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-fidelity wireframes and mockups on tight schedules
