Intermediate Data Analyst Jobs

We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our team and help us ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of our organizational data. The successful candidate will collaborate with business units to identify metadata of critical data elements, work closely with the data leadership team to develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards, conduct data quality analysis and create a Data Quality Dashboard.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing data governance program, policies, principles and ensure data compliance
• Capture baseline enterprise data model and map it to the business capabilities, processes and applications
• Collaborate with IT and business data teams on multiple projects to ensure that data related project initiatives are supported and have access to all data needed
• Enforce data standards, including data definitions, data quality standards, and naming conventions ensuring that the data is consistent and conforms to the defined standards
• Ensure that data within the organization is managed and used properly and that enterprise data is accurate, complete and consistent
• Promote the value and importance of data to a broad range of audiences
• Provide data discovery, governance and data quality guidance to business units and technical teams for their data governance, quality, and access issues
• Assist and guide business analysts to ensure that data requirements are captured according to standards and well documented
• Create and curate content that is relevant and valuable to the data community
• Create and maintain a metadata repository that captures information about the data, ensuring that is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant to the organization's needs
• Design and implement data quality program, metrics and reporting dashboard to track data quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of documenting and maintaining data dictionaries, business glossaries, data quality metric and definitions
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data management, metadata management, and data quality analysis, along with understanding of ETL, business intelligence/data warehousing solutions
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required
• Experience in creating reports, scorecards, dashboards and explaining the information in them
• Experience in the travel or airline industry is a strong asset
• Working experience with SDLC, requirements gathering and documentation
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, to communicate clearly with business users, project teams and project managers and clearly document metadata
• Strong networking and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with members, data professionals and third party organizations
• Strong knowledge of Data Management DAMA-DMBOK2 Data Framework, implementation experience is an asset

Technical Skills

• 1 year of experience working with data integration (ETL) tools such as Microsoft SSIS or Matillion
• Knowledge of database design and data warehouse modeling techniques and concepts
• 3 + years of strong SQL experience using SQL Server, RedShift, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
• Experience with Amazon Web Services or other secure cloud providers
• Experience using Google Suite
• Proficient in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or other similar software
• 1 year of working experience developing Python scripts for data analysis
