The Opportunity

The Role

As a Dealership Infrastructure Analyst, you will research and implement new customer facing technologies at our dealerships clients, while providing excellent support to both our internal and external customers. This role provides the opportunity to work individually and within the team in a fast-paced environment and to travel occasionally within Canada and the US.

This position will be based in our Milton, Ontario office and is not a remote work opportunity.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Act as a top-tier technical resource for customer facing technical issues
• Perform network monitoring and troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in at least one of the following: Windows Servers, Veeam, Networking, SQL Server, or scripting/programming
• Work to meet departmental and personal goals established by management
• Provide guidance and mentoring for less experienced members of the team
• Work closely with other DIT analysts and PBS teams to resolve customer facing issues
• Manage Windows Update deployments and patching using patching software
• Train other Analysts on new technologies, processes, and procedures to establish best practices
• Monitor & respond to escalation tickets from other PBS teams in a timely manner
• Perform in-depth troubleshooting of server & network issues
• Manage daily backups using Veeam/Windows
• Managing Azure DR plan for DIT
• Provide after-hours support for infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional after-hours maintenance
• Responsible for keeping track of assets and DIT deployed servers and networking equipment in the Milton office datacenter
• Research new technologies and seek ways to implement them into customer environments
• Manage medium to large scale projects and implementations according to budgets and schedules
• Managing Azure HCI deployments
• Managing any cloud deployments that will be required for DIT
• Maintain internal documentation on hardware, software, and custom tools
• Review current technical processes and procedures, seeking ways to improve them by means of automation or other tools
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell considered an asset
• Experience with backup technologies and tools such as Veeam
• Available to work hours beginning at 6:00am, 7:00am, 8:00am, or 9:00am
• Experience with Windows Server roles such as Active Directory, Group Policies, and RDS
• Effective time management and organization
• Available for occasional work on nights and weekends for infrastructure related emergencies and after-hours maintenance
• Experience managing networks, VLANs, VPNs and Firewalls
• Extensive hands-on experience with servers, switches, and firewalls
• Available to travel occasionally in the US and Canada
• Experience creating and managing virtual environments (Hyper-V is preferred)
• Fluent in English and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• 2-3 years’ experience in System or Network Administrator role
• Certifications from Microsoft, Dell, CompTIA, and/or Cisco considered an asset
• Extensive knowledge of Windows Server platforms such as 2012 R2, 2016 or 2019
• Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server
• Strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
• Previous experience in the automotive industry or dealership environment considered an asset
