Senior Security Analyst Jobs

The Senior Security Analyst primary role is to protect the hospitals data and resources against potential cyber threats.

Day To Day Tasks Include

• Conducting security awareness training for employees to promote a culture of security within the organization.
• Collaborating with other IT professionals and stakeholders to develop and implement security strategies and solutions.
• Conducting security assessments and vulnerability testing of the organization's systems and networks to identify potential weaknesses and recommend solutions.
• Developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the protection of the organization's data.
• Monitoring the organization's networks and systems for security breaches, unauthorized access, and other security incidents.
• Investigating and responding to security incidents, including conducting root cause analysis, and providing recommendations to prevent future incidents.
• Designing and implementing security controls to protect against malware, phishing attacks, and other cyber threats.
• Staying up to date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to ensure the organization's security practices are current and effective.

DNPFormal Education - College diploma or university degree in the fields of computer science

Certifications - CISSP, GIAC or similar is preferred

Experience - Minimum 5 Years Related IT Security Experience

Knowledge - Strong knowledge and experience in some of the following areas.

Layered network and host based security controls.

Familiar with PHIPA legislation.

Understanding of a common industry framework or standards like PCI, NIST, ISO.

Incident Analysis and Response using tools like EDR and SIEM.

Threat Risk Assessments.

Network and Host Operating Systems.

Security architectures in large complex infrastructures.

Soft Skills include stress and time management and the ability to work independently.

The Health Information Technology Services (HITS) Department is presently located at all HHS sites with our main office at 293 Wellington, which is an administrative building, to support the 24 hour by 7 day week needs of Hamilton Health Sciences.

Schedule Work Hours

Monday to Friday - 9 to 5 with on-call support after hours and flexible start times.
