Position:Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst /Tester

Location:Brampton, Ontario; Work will be primarily remote with occasional on-site (1 day per week)

Experience & Education:

Three (3) to five (5) years’ professional experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst / Tester

Duties

• Report, document and triage issues and failures.
• Estimate time and effort and schedule all testing activity.
• Create reports of test procedures, defects observed, and test result metrics.
• Review and improve on test cases developed by other testers.
• Advise Project Manager regarding overall quality of project and identify outstanding issues through established project management protocols.
• Automate test case execution by developing the necessary scripts or programmatic code.
• Identify, assess and propose recommendations to identified testing risks using a systematic approach.
• Participate in defect triage activities through the execution of targeted tests, review of Performance testing behavior, and collaborative work sessions with the various
• Apply and follow established testing best practices and SDLC methodology.
• Work with the project/program manager to align projects by looking for overlap in testing resource requirements across projects.
• Interacts with developers, project team resources and vendors during issue resolution and re-testing.
• Manage the design, specification, and execution of tests, including ensuring that test design accounts for risk and selecting the test types.
• Monitor test progress, write status reports and control (taking corrective action) as required.
• Works with business users, system administrators and project managers to provide accurate test cost estimates for projects/solutions.
• Utilize appropriate tools to record, analyze and classify defect.
• Teams involved to drive at root cause.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Knowledge of testing tools is an asset.
• Develop and execute test cases, test plans, test strategies, test data and test environment setups.
• The City is standardized on the Tricentis suite of products – specifically qTest (and Katalon), Tosca and any resources put forward should have experience with this toolset.
• Review test results, walkthrough presentation prior to delivery of the project to ensure the requirements have been met.
