Ottawa Memory Clinic/ Clinique de la Mémorie de l’Outaouais (OMC/CMO) has two clinics dedicated to researching and fighting Alzheimer's disease (AD). OMC/CMO also partners with pharmaceutical companies to conduct clinical trials for AD.
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia, making up approximately 70% of all cases. Those over the age of 65 are at a higher risk to develop AD and it diminishes cognitive, verbal, and physical abilities by destroying brain cells. This in turn affects our ability to think, to learn new things, and to remember. Many scientific experts are working to ameliorate our understanding of this devastating disease in the hope of finding more effective treatments.
We provide care to patients, generate knowledge for the scientific community, continue to improve support, and access clinical research.
We are currently searching for an IT Administrator to support our growing IT needs in both clinics.
How would you be spending your day?
- Take initiative to identify areas of improvement and provide suggestions as needed.
- Perform level 2 tech support fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and application
- Organizes and execute offboarding of all systems and hardware requirements of staff.
- Assemble, image and configure workstations, laptops and servers according to client IT project specifications and details
- Proactively access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases and FAQ resources on the Internet/intranet to aid in tech support problem resolution
- Monday to Friday 8:30am 4:30am, Occasional off-hours work to meet IT system demands.
- Create new and follow existing checklists to ensure a consistent result for routine and common tasks within our IT functions
- Provide exceptional service to staff from the initial support incident through resolution. Clear communication throughout this process is required.
- Monitor internal central ticketing system to ensure timely resolution of tech support issues within SLA.
- Effectively maintain and organize multiple service orders and logs.
- Perform remote and onsite troubleshooting of hardware, software and networking issues for various employees
- Document any and all changes to client environments as well as applying the latest industry “Best Practices”
What are we looking for? (Mandatory Requirements)
- Experience working with the Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, File Server, and Domain Controllers.
- 2+ years technical experience and knowledge in IT applications, processes, software, equipment and cross functional management methods and techniques:
- Logical thinking and problem solving skills. Being able to isolate problems down to the appropriate layers (i.e. Network, Application, Server or Client).
- Ability to interface at all levels of the organization is required
- Strong knowledge of Windows Workstation Support including Microsoft Office and other utilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks with good judgement.
- Ability to add users and groups in AD and Exchange, and updating files and sharing permissions and setup group policies
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Systems and Network administration, computer science, engineering or another related discipline
- Ability to detect, protect and clean viruses safely from Workstations and Servers
- Fluent in English; written and spoken is mandatory
- Valid Driver's license
What are we looking for? (nice to have)
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Systems and Network administration, computer science, engineering or another related discipline
- Experience in a healthcare, dental or medical office is an asset
- CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent experience
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is an asset
- Fluent in French; written and spoken is an asset.
This position will work from and support both clinics located in Ottawa and Gatineau.
