OVERVIEW:
Alberta Blue Cross is seeking an individual to join our Computer Operations team for a 1-year term position with the possibility for extension. Under the guidance of Senior team members and the Team Manager, the Technical Analyst will join a team responsible for supporting critical IT systems and services including data centre facilities, enterprise printing, batch job scheduling/monitoring, as well as data backup services. This team is responsible for the 24x7 delivery of highly effective processes related to providing monitoring, management, automation, quality controls, reporting, and issue resolutions for critical enterprise systems. The team has an on-call rotation as well as a requirement for rotational daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.
Our ideal candidate is self-reliant, has great attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a proven capability to resolve complex issues as well as a passion for and interest in ongoing learning and development. A familiarity and comfort working night shifts is highly beneficial. This position reports to the Team Manager of Computer Operations in the IT Infrastructure and Operations Department.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Participate in a large-scale high-speed print operation including maintenance and printing of a variety of products and materials. These include cheques, statements, invoices, and ID cards.
- In this position you will learn established processes that ensure precision and accuracy in the management the following critical systems.
- Management and monitoring, and issue remediation for a large-scale batch job scheduling system responsible for the automation of critical business processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A diploma or degree in a related technical discipline from a recognized institute.
- A keen interest in technology with a passion for continuous learning and growth.
- Self-motivated with effective planning, organization, and time management skills.
- A positive attitude and a desire to build strong effective working relationships in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to be versatile and highly adaptable to respond to changing business priorities.
- Detail oriented nature, with demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to gather requirements and find innovative and effective solutions.
- 1-5 years of experience in an enterprise IT environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, administration, and automation skills.
- A high level of accountability and a demonstrated ability to be both reliable and dependable.
