Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Operations Support Job Responsibilities:

The selected applicant will be responsible for performing Computer Operations duties per documented processes and procedures at a Bell location.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Operates a Mainframe system by executing preventive maintenance procedures.

· Reads and understands manuals and instructions to perform technical job tasks.

· Performs pre-scheduled activities per documented instructions and manuals.

· Maintains operations by monitoring system error-logs, alarms, and messages from the computer system and peripheral equipment.

· Executes triage of technical problems based on system knowledge database.

· Answers to client's enquiries via main desktop calls, email, in-person regarding computer-related problems.

· Maintains the storage media inventory and preventive system backups.

· Protects operations by keeping information confidential.

· Makes appropriate changes to the documentation and contributes with individual experiences.

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED

· On site required at Montreal (Saint Leonard) Bell location.

· Schedule includes 4 days a week in 11 hours-shifts. Shift-work week rotation is: Daytime (7am-7pm), Nighttime (7pm-7am), and Weekend (7am-7pm).

· Must have OS, DOS, MS Office skills.

· Experience in 1st level problem determination and reporting.

· Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.

· Remain current with all procedures and provide input as appropriate.

· Must be able and willing to learn new tasks/skills as required.

· Technical certificate in ICT.

· Bilingual French/English required.

· 1 year contract with strong possibility of renewal

TRAINING

Based on the specific requirements of Bell operations, a 4-week progressive training is provided before the employee is assigned to regular shifts.
