Industrial Process Engineer Jobs

We are looking for a Industrial Process Engineer for our Contract Logistics division/office based in Mississauga.

Your Role

You will oversee the implementation of process improvement projects, following corporate and warehouse business goals and strategies. Lead and help develop best-in-class operating solutions in warehousing design and supply chain operations. Solutions include consideration of all operational elements including cost, service requirements, operational processes, use of technology/IT, equipment requirements/selection, facility layout and MHE selections related to staffing plans. You will provide technical support to the Operations team through process trouble shooting and optimization projects.

Your Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend customer RFP/Q/I’s to identify solution requirements and any additional data required to develop the solution
• Ensure that new technologies are operationally understood before introduction, providing training
• Analyze warehousing scenarios to develop optimized solutions and pricing for new business ensuring solution is aligned with customer requirements
• Identify Root cause inefficiencies within plant processes using continuous improvement methodology; DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.
• Design warehouse processes to improve labour and equipment requirements using work measurement methodologies
• Lead the team of testers along with the warehouse Operations Manager
• Develop process flow analysis to capture current operations and identify process improvements, consulting on continuous process improvement projects for specific customers
• Develop detailed Concept of Operations (COO) documents/presentations and participate in customer presentations
• Help introduce Automation technology in warehouse
• Manage a set of long-term projects relating directly to warehouse KPIs focused on improving safety, providing exceptional service, maximizing throughput, reducing waste and improving quality
• Developed the labor plan forecast for different areas of automation, conducting time studies, incorporating the ramp up, ramp down scenarios and also the labor inefficiencies (Learning curve) calculations in the forecast
• Test the system and machines on all the daily scenarios. Testing the Operations and IT test cases. Sharing test plans, issue log to keep the team and customer up to date
• Explore new fields of technology to determine if the existing process can be improved
• Participate and support startup planning of attained new business including developing vendor RFQ’s and justification for capital investments and coordinating activities with vendors

Your Skills And Experiences

• Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering
• Ability to prepare and make comprehensive presentations, participates in formal debate, communicate extemporaneously before an audience
• 3+ years of relevant experience (automated warehouses, distribution centers, automotive plants)
