The B.C. Wildlife Federation (BCWF) is a province-wide non-profit charitable association with over 40,000 annual members that consist of hunters, anglers, and conservationists. The BCWF is currently seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to create a robust Human Resource infrastructure for employees, volunteers, board of directors, and members. The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for working with departments to build policies, procedures and implement best practices for hiring practices, contracts, onboarding, offboarding, and conflict resolution.The Human Resources Coordinator will also conduct a review of BCWF roles and compensation, privacy policies, and benefits.
The BCWF office is conveniently located close to Hwy 1 and the Golden Ears Bridge. Standard hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Occasional evenings, weekends, and/or extended hours will be required to accommodate activities and events.

COMPETENCIES and SKILLS
- Minimum of five years Human Resource experience is required
- Outstanding coordination and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Must have a positive attitude and work well in a team-oriented environment
- Capacity to effectively manage both time and priorities
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy especially where maintaining precise records is concerned.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, information security, privacy, and compliance concepts
- Presentation skills, with comfort in presenting and facilitating to groups
- Working knowledge of employment laws and practices
- Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation is considered an asset
- Must be flexible, resourceful, analytical, and methodical in approach to emerging situations with the ability to act quickly and decisively in an ever-changing work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (proficient in English) with the ability to communicate effectively, be tactful, and build productive working relationships with various BCWF working groups, including staff and our volunteer Board of Directors as well as other stakeholders
- Proficient with MS Office
- Post-secondary education with a Human Resource focus is required
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the process of developing accurate job descriptions, interviewing, hiring, terminating, and performing exit interviews
- Support and assist the leadership team in the development of annual business plans, work plans, and budgets, matters pertaining to employee relations, performance management, employee engagement initiatives, and events
- Build onboarding and offboarding documents for board, staff, and volunteers
- Assist in the development and monitoring of HR metrics and report areas of opportunity and concern
- Work with Finance to ensure employee records (including time sheets and attendance), benefits, and wages are compliant with relevant laws and regulations
- Perform reference and criminal record checks
- Review current roles and responsibilities, compensation, HR policies, and procedures
- Support staff, board, volunteer, and member training and development and create and maintain a staff certification tracking system
- Other HR-related duties as assigned
- Work with Executive Director (ED) to identify role-related objectives that meet the BCWFs strategic goals and to ensure strategies, objectives, and HR directives are implemented organization-wide
SALARY and BENEFITS
- Annual Salary of $70,000 - $100,000 based on relevant experience
