The Human Ressources Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Manager to carry out various Human Resources processes.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assists in collective agreement interpretation and provides advice to all stakeholders as required.
- Maintains and updates employee records electronically as well as Employee Personnel Files to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Compiles various HR lists, including but not limited to the Seniority list, Leave of Absence list, Driver Abstract License expiry list, etc.
- Performs administrative and other related duties as required.
- Responsible for full cycle recruiting including creating vacancy requests, job postings, screening resumes, coordinating, and conducting interviewing and background checks. Ensures offer letters and new hire documentation is completed. Maintains database of recruiting data. Provides onboarding documentation and coordinates new hire training with the Safety & Training Department.
- Responds to and processes HR related queries or requests such as employment verifications, benefits enrolment documents, and updating information.
- Prepares, maintains, and presents hiring statistics.
- Supports and assists the HR Manager to carryout various HR functions.
- Supports the Attendance Management Program, including tracking absences on employee calendars and doctor’s notes.
- Oversees the pre-qualification process. Conducts competency and technical testing for internal employees and new hires. Coordinates interviews, creates interview guides, tracks status.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Working towards Charted Professional Human Resources CPHR designation is an asset.
- Project management and problem-solving skills.
- 1-3 years job-related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Record-keeping and follow-up skills.
- Work with highest standards of integrity.
- Willing to work under tight deadlines and maintain exceptional judgement and discretion regarding sensitive matters.
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, human resources or related field.
- Ability to meet challenges with resourcefulness, generate suggestions for improving work, and develop innovative approaches and ideas.
- Prior experience with the use of modern business applications and skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, G-suite and Outlook.
- Experience working with union and non-union.
