We are currently looking for an HR Business Partner (12+ month contract) at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON
The Human Resources Business Partner provides dedicated HR support for all brands of internal customers by providing exceptional services that pro-actively affect high impact HR strategies in support of a high performing culture. The dedicated HR support will be responsible for onboarding, orientation and training needs of new hires. The incumbent will have a lead role in coaching people leaders and employees on the following HR services: employee onboarding and off-boarding, employee relations, employee engagement, employee development, performance management, , pay administration inquiries, recruitment support, policy administration and implementation of a variety of key human resources initiatives and projects that support the needs of the business
**This is a flex hybrid model, requiring 2 days in the Ajax office**
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Total Rewards colleagues on salary recommendations, job evaluations, market/equity analyses and pay adjustments needed to reward and retain talent.
- Work with hiring managers to ensure that those hired are effectively on-boarded into the organization, hold onboarding meetings and consultation meetings with each new hire and manager.
- Onboard new hires, and lead orientation sessions
- Provide coaching to leaders in support of employee development, employee engagement and retention, performance management, and/or employee relations and hold regular meetings as needed.
- Work with Legal Counsel and Manager, Human Resources on investigations and complex employee matters, and take action to protect the interest of employees and the Company in accordance with Company policies, related legislation and regulations.
- Serve as the employee’s first point of contact to address HR related inquiries or issues, answer questions, and process requests concerning HR policies, benefits, payroll and leaves of absence or other.
- Collaborate with the Manager, Organizational Development to promote efforts to measure employee satisfaction within supported client groups, and facilitate action planning to improve employee engagement. Identify issues and opportunities for improvement and recommend strategies and interventions.
- Support HR initiatives that are related to key components of HR strategy such as employee satisfaction survey, total rewards, training and development, and employment brand awareness.
- Work collaboratively with Talent Acquisition colleagues to ensure clients’ positions are filled with qualified and diverse candidates in a timely manner; prepare organizational announcements for departmental changes.
- Work closely with Payroll colleagues to ensure updates affecting employee compensation, taxable benefits, employee perks and benefits are administered accurately
- Administer leaves of absences such as, disability, maternity/parental, workers compensation, etc., and work with third party adjudicators and/or WSIB to establish safe return to work plans.
- Guide, provide coaching to, and participate alongside managers to facilitate performance, policy, disciplinary and other complex issues with employees.
- Administer the employee separation process including terminations, retirements, departure information and exit interviews.
- Full support and administration of temporary contract employees.
- Work with leaders to plan for new or replacement positions and secure necessary approvals to begin the recruitment process.
- Support HR projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Ability to act as a change agent
- Ability to prioritize competing demands
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Strong decision making skills
- Active listening skills and high level of confidentiality
- Business Acumen
- Bilingualism (French/English) considered an asset
- 4+ years of related work experience in an HR Generalist role.
- Robust communication skills for note taking and project tracking
- Knowledge of provincial employment legislation
- Undergraduate Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, and/or equivalent relevant work experience
- Experience with SAP Success Factors is considered an asset
- Ability to influence and establish credibility
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team player, process orientation and keen attention to detail
