Job Description

Human Resource Business Partner, Nissan Canada

The Human Resources Business Partner will manage the day-to-day operations of Human Resources for the NCI Business Unit to meet NCI’s strategic goals and legal requirements. The position will assist in the development and implementation of H.R. strategies and services, support cultural transformation programs, and contribute towards making Nissan Canada a Great Place to Work. Be a change champion by actively promoting cultural transformations initiatives and programs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with COEs and other business units to deploy best practices and develop and implement cultural change improvement initiatives that align with Nissan Way
  • Coordinate with COEs and business leaders to deploy annual appraisal processes and oversee a fair merit deployment exercise
  • Implement programs for talent management, including talent identification, placement, and development, talent reviews, and career development plans
  • Work with talent acquisition team and business leaders to fill vacancies, conduct interviews, and manage an effective onboarding program
  • Manage employee relations, including onboarding, exits, performance improvement plans, training, communications, corrective actions, disciplinary actions, terminations, short-term and long-term disability management, maternity leave management, and benefits support
  • Support deployment of programs for management effectiveness, including coaching, organizational development, performance management, and mentoring programs
  • Develop business plans to ensure the organization’s human resource requirements are met, through headcount planning, strategic initiatives, and workforce diversity


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in behavioral interviewing and employee relations, expert knowledge of employment law, and sound knowledge of compensation.
  • A minimum college-level education in Business Administration, psychology, or human relations, with a Certificate in Human Resources Management (CHRM) or equivalent experience. CHRP designation is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with all levels of management and employees. Good leadership capability.
  • Able to manage multiple initiatives while ensuring the relationship between the program/process/issue at hand and its impact on other functional areas (inside and outside of H.R.) are considered and accounted for
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in HR, excellent planning, organizational and time management skills as well as relationship and project management skills. Good working knowledge of MS Office. Knowledge of Workday is an asset.


Working Conditions:

Frequent exposure to multiple and/or conflicting deadlines. Requires occasional travelling within the country.
