Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resource Coordinator IV to join our team. This role will primarily be based at our Scarborough and Gladstone plants, with occasional travel to other locations in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing HR support and guidance to managers and employees, ensuring a positive employee experience, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Coach managers and employees on leveraging technology to streamline HR processes and improve efficiency
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Support employee relations activities, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Assist with employee onboarding, including new hire orientation and paperwork completion
  • Conduct daily walks and interactions with employees in our plants to foster positive relationships and address any concerns or issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases
  • Collaborate with management to identify and implement continuous improvement methodologies to enhance the employee experience
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws
  • 1-3 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor managers and employees
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with employees at all levels
  • Flexibility to work at multiple locations in the GTA as needed
Please note that this is not a remote position and will require regular in-person presence at our manufacturing sites in the GTA. The primary location will be in the Scarborough/East York area, with occasional travel to the Hamilton and Gladstone plants in Toronto. The working hours for this role are 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, with some flexibility to adjust the schedule to meet with employees on other shifts. Overtime hours are not allowed, and the successful candidate will work closely with management to ensure compliance with overtime regulations.
