Job Description

Pure EV Charging is seeking an ambitious and energetic Head of Site Acquisitions to join our team and support the expansion of Pure EV Charging owned and operated Fast Charger Network Operations across Canada. As the Head of Site Acquisitions you will be focused on locating and securing the best potential sites for charging stations and signing agreements with site hosts to locate Pure EV Charging Equipment on.


The ideal candidate will help build a pipeline of high-quality, high-convenience locations and site hosts that will ensure the best-possible charging experience for electric vehicle drivers throughout Canada. This role will take the lead on site analysis, site host relationship, and site lease negotiations while ensuring Pure EV Charging’s business objectives are met and exceeded.

Having a background in real-estate sales/negotiations and infrastructure planning will be a strong asset in this position.


ABOUT THE ROLE

• Identify, develop and manage a pipeline of site hosts within a regional territory and across Canada with National presence.

• Perform proactive outbound prospecting, together with managing inbound inquiries that will lead to Letters of Intent and property agreements for site deployments.

• Identify potential sites through data-driven tools and qualitative analysis to determine the best locations to host Pure EV Charging charging stations.

• Secure high utilization sites which meet financial thresholds and can support outstanding user experience for both EV drivers and the site host, while working cross functionally with our Network Planning team.

• Work closely with Pure EV Charging’s traditional business model teams to ensure we are providing multiple business opportunities to our partners for both traditional sales and own and operate business models.

• Understand the various funding programs across Canada to ensure the Pure EV Charging Network Expansion can benefit from all regional and federal programs for funding and support.

• Create and deliver a range of customer facing content, including pitch decks and proposal documents that can be used to engage site hosts and secure agreements.

• Manage the complete site acquisition process, including leading negotiations that result in timely site host agreements in line with company objectives.

• Undertake site visits to validate remote site analysis and guide the projects through to the handoff to the Site Construction Teams to begin final design, build, and operational phases of a Pure EV Charging Deployment.

• Build long lasting relationships with relevant stakeholders including municipal, utility, landlords, retail, petroleum, real estate brokers and developers, construction teams and other representatives who will be engaged as part of the due diligence phase of site acquisition.

• Work with internal cross functional teams to create site layouts that best fit Pure EV Charging’s deployment strategy, the site host, and EV driver requirements, working with internal stakeholders to finalize Go / No Go decisions on site feasibility.

• Record and track milestones and provide regularly updates on progress within your territory.

• Provide regular market feedback and participate in strategic projects to maximize network quality.


ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, real-estate, or equivalent.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, business development, and or customer-facing commercial real estate/brokerage.

• Excellent communication skills – a conversationalist who can persuade individuals in a variety of positions, including C-Suite.

• Ability to respond to potential customer requests quickly and professionally.

• Excellent presentation skills – can develop and lead a pitch meeting for perspective hosts or large partners.

• Excellent organizational skills – able to manage 30+ customer relationships and projects in various phases of deployment at once.

• Excellent negotiation skills – can handle customer objections and negotiate favorable long-term site host agreements.

• Demonstrated creativity skills – able to think creatively to problem solve to remove deal roadblocks.

• Strong financial acumen – able to take inputs and use a model to evaluate site financials.

• Team player – able to work in a team environment, as well as independently to meet your individual deadlines.

• Ability to learn technical requirements is required.

• Able to do some local, regional and national travel.


YOUR ASSETS

• Existing technical knowledge of EV charging deployment requirements is a plus (ability to read technical drawings, electrical connection, construction considerations, hardware capabilities).

• Experience in contracts, real estate, permitting, and EV infrastructure strongly preferred.

• We are looking for someone to put in sweat equity and get in on the ground floor of this exciting startup. As compensation you will receive equity in the company and become part of the original ownership group. When we receive funding, the selected candidate transitions to a full-time employee with a salary plus the initial equity earned through being part of the founding team. Securing the best sites for EV Drivers is going to be incredibly important to our business model. We are looking for the professional who can open the real-estate gates.
