General Manager - Residential

Hays are currently working with a residential builder based in Calgary. They are seeking a skilled General Manager to oversee construction activities. Reporting directly to the Owner, you will manage a team of 8+ professionals and ensure successful execution of construction projects. This company specialises in both single and multi family builds.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop a team of 10+ staff, providing strategic guidance and leadership.
• Maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, including project management, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, codes, and safety standards.
• Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competition for growth opportunities.
• Continuously improve operational processes for increased efficiency and productivity.
• Collaborate with the owner and senior management to develop and implement business strategies.
• Foster a culture of excellence, professionalism, and accountability throughout the organization.
• Prepare and present reports, budgets, and forecasts to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Relevant education in construction management or related field preferred
• Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proven track record in project management and successful project completion.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strategic mindset with strong decision-making skills.
• Results-oriented and focused on business growth.
• Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of single and multi-family construction processes.
• 5+ years of managerial experience in residential construction.
