General Manager Operations Jobs

Our downtown based client, one of the world’s leading online youth travel brands requires a General Manager to supervise their Vancouver satellite office. The ideal candidate should have experience managing teams, improving efficiency, and increasing profits. Previous travel industry or international experience is an asset. The role requires strong technical ability, administration, coordination, and travel-savvy knowledge. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for developing a business development strategy, leading the team, promoting a culture of high performance, and managing financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate team development meetings to build key areas including skill-building, time management, conflict resolution, personal development, and team cohesion
• Stay up-to-date with travel industry changes and inform the team of any changes in airline availability and costs.
• Develop and maintain a business development strategy to increase the company's customer base
• Meet with other departments to provide product information and identify areas for improvement.
• Lead and manage the team to ensure smooth operations and outstanding customer service
• Manage financial records and reporting including weekly inbound activity tracking, forecasting and maintenance of arrival and placement data.
• Research and meet with potential suppliers on the market
• Ensure the custom CRM system is accurately updated.

Qualifications:

• Residency Status: Canadian PR or Citizen
• Experience in the travel industry or well-traveled
• Experience in managing teams, handling finances, improving efficiency, and increasing profits
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
• Proven 2-3 years experience as a general manager
• Strong technical ability, administration, coordination, and travel-savvy knowledge
