A day in the role of a Food Services Supervisor Champlain Long Term Care Residence .
As a Food Services Supervisor at Champlain Long Term Care Residence , you will be given high expectations, as well as an expectation to continue personal growth and professional growth. In this position, you will be gifted with a rewarding experience every day in the form of being able to see the exact impact you place on our residents.
As a Food Services Supervisor, you will report directly to the Executive Director or the Director of Care. This position will be part-time, so candidates must be available to work weekends, as well as a variety of shifts. Schedules will be provided.
This Position Is Responsible For But Not Limited To

• Knowledge and ability to complete RAI-MDS.
• Set up work schedules and train food service workers.
• Maintains records of income and expenditures, food, supplies personnel and equipment.
• Conduct audits regarding patient or client satisfaction, food wastage, sanitation and safety
• Estimate requirements and order food, equipment and supplies
• Ensure that food safety regulations are followed
• Other duties as assigned.
• Develop equipment maintenance schedules, arrange for repairs as needed and evaluate new products
• Maintain food and equipment inventories
• Forecast menu requirements based on a master menu and prepare production sheets or orders for food preparation workers
• Supervise and direct the assembly of special diet and regular trays, and the delivery of food carts
• Direct and coordinate the activities of workers operating kitchen equipment and preparing, portioning and serving food

Qualifications

• Policy and program development
• Has at least 2 years experience
• Good judgment & decision making, solving problems & resolving conflicts skills
• Champlain Long Term Care Residence recognizes the importance of immunization to protect our residents, staff and others from COVID-19. As such, subject to any accommodation required by applicable human rights legislation, it will be a condition of employment that all new hires are fully vaccinated having received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada, 14 days before start date.
• Previous managerial experience in long term care setting an asset
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of long-term care concepts and philosophies
• Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results less than 6 months old, must be able to provide two supervisory references.
• Is an active member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition & Management (CSNM)
